Over half a million books have been sold about them and Indigo Children are now presenting themselves to special education teachers saying "I'm an indigo, deal with me." The parents of these children claim they have gifted levels of intelligence and intuition, yet the children often exhibit disruptive behavioural problems making it almost impossible for them to thrive in the traditional classroom. In the past the educational and medical systems have often diagnosed the problems these children exhibit as ADHD and OCD and recommended medications like Ritalin to make their situation more controllable. More and more parents are saying “no” to the drugs and looking for alternatives that will help their child thrive. INDIGOS is a subject driven documentary looking at the educational and psychological controversy surround the “Indigo” term as it takes us on a journey of discovery with one family exploring the “best practices” and educational options available to help their challenging son.
